WALA – natural quality

Sustainable management for natural quality
WALA Heilmittel, the manufacturer of Dr.Hauschka Skin Care, achieves high quality by the interaction of tradition with modern state-of-the-art production processes.

WALA first manufactured anthroposophical medicines, more than 60 years ago. The Dr.Hauschka Skin Care Range was developed 40 years ago, in part from the basis of the knowledge gained in the production of the medicines. Plants from WALA’s own biodynamic medicinal herb garden are processed by hand with care and deliberation and combined with raw materials of supreme quality to produce high-grade medicines and skin care products.

Roses from Romania and Shea butter from Africa
In order to maintain consistent quality, biodynamic farming projects are initiated and supported world-wide, for example the cultivation of Damask Roses in Romania and Shea butter in Burkina Faso, Africa. WALA’s support of these projects also enables local farmers to live their lives in economic security. In this way the concept of respect for nature and human life is carried out into the wider world.

State-of-the-art analytical methods are used for regular in-house quality control of all starting materials, intermediate products and finished products. Quality control of skin care products also follows pharmacopoeia guidelines.

Pioneers in matters of Nature
In all manufacturing processes, new buildings and acquisitions, WALA makes sure that the cycle of responsibility towards nature and future generations is complete.

WALA is owned by a Trust which is similar to a charity in the UK. This means WALA cannot be sold and there are no shareholders.

When the Dr.Hauschka Skin Care Range was developed in the 1960’s it was one of the first natural skin care lines. At the time this was considered very avant-garde. Today, 40 years later, it is more and more evident that Nature’s way is perhaps the best way into the future. For WALA this way has always been the most natural thing in the world.
